Fairtrade

Sacred Heart has had a Fairtrade Team for many years.

In February some of the Y6 children from our Fairtrade Team were invited to the Newcstle's Civic Centre.  The children were given a special tour and spent time with the Deputy Lord Major and Sherriff and his wife, including sitting down for dinner together to discuss some of the things that the children had done.

The children sat in on the council meeting and gave a presentation to the full council, following a presentation by the Chief Constable and Police Crime Commissioner.  The children spoke confidently and with pride about their involvement in Fairtrade initiatives over the years.

The children were a real credit to our school and made quite an impact on the councillors, who voted unanimously to continue to support Fairtrade in the city.
